In the compact space of C-GIS, if only a standard disconnector (DS) is used, you must rely on the upstream circuit breaker to cut the load before switching or maintenance, reducing distribution flexibility. This SF6 Load Break Switch (LBS) not only provides a clear isolation gap but also directly breaks 630A rated active load current and loop current. This means in specific ring main or terminal distribution scenarios, it can independently perform load switching, reducing equipment layers and simplifying C-GIS electrical design.
E2 and M2 Certification: Handling High-Frequency, Heavy-Load Operations
Unlike ordinary isolation devices, this LBS has an M2 class mechanical life and E2 class electrical life. This means it can withstand more frequent opening/closing operations, and its contacts possess extremely strong arc-erosion resistance when breaking load current. For PV step-up stations, wind farm collector lines, or urban ring network nodes requiring frequent switching, the M2/E2 configuration significantly extends the maintenance-free cycle.
10A Cable Charging Current Breaking: Solving Capacitive Load Challenges
In long cable lines, open-circuit switching generates capacitive charging currents. This product can break 10A cable charging current, effectively suppressing switching overvoltages and preventing insulation breakdown caused by restriking, making it ideal for cable inlet/outlet scenarios in urban underground substations.
Mechanical Interlocking and Safety Defense: How the Lower Door Interlock Safeguards the Site
Door Interlock Mechanism Designed for C-GIS
In addition to standard operation holes, the product drawing specifically shows a Door Interlock Mechanism linked to the operating mechanism. In a C-GIS, the lower door usually corresponds to the cable compartment. This interlock's function is: when the LBS is in the closed (energized) position, a mechanical latch firmly blocks the lower door, forcibly preventing O&M personnel from opening the cable compartment door. The lower door can only be opened after the LBS is opened and reliably earthed. This physically eliminates the risk of entering a live compartment.
Highly Symmetrical Minimalist Installation Design
Consistent with the previous isolation product, the inlet/outlet mounting holes, grounding operation holes, and closing operation holes share exactly the same dimensions. This means builders do not need multiple sizes of fasteners and handles during assembly, greatly improving C-GIS assembly line efficiency.
Technical Specifications & Selection Guide
Core Technical Parameters (Based on DF LBS-24 Drawing)
Functional Positioning: If your project requires breaking normal load or loop current, you must choose LBS (this product); if only maintenance isolation is needed, choose DS.
Panel Interlocking: Confirm if your C-GIS lower door structure has reserved latch points to match this interlock mechanism.
Fuse Coordination: Some LBS designs have fuse chambers (not directly shown in the drawing, but usually can be combined with fuses for short-circuit protection).
Core Advantages
Breaking Capability, Not Just Isolation
Directly breaks 630A load current and 10A cable charging current, reducing the need for circuit breaker layers inside C-GIS panels and lowering equipment costs.
M2/E2 Class Long Life for Long Maintenance-Free Periods
Adapts to frequent switching operations with strong arc-erosion resistance, meeting the high-reliability requirements of new energy and ring network power supply.
Exclusive Lower Door Interlock Mechanism to Prevent Live Entry
Mechanical interlocking forcibly ensures the lower door cannot be opened when the switch is closed, ensuring the safety of maintenance personnel in the cable compartment.

Company Strength
SF6 Gas Tightness Control and Mechanical Interlock Verification
Dongfa Intelligent (Zhejiang Dongfa Intelligent Electric Technology Co., Ltd.) was founded in 2012, with 14 years of focus on high-voltage electrical manufacturing. For LBS, in addition to standard helium mass spectrometer leak detection and moisture control, we specifically test the lower door interlock mechanism for operational life and matching precision before shipment. We ensure the latch stroke strictly matches the switch main shaft to avoid interlock failure due to mechanical deformation.
High-Low Voltage Collaborative Supply for One-Stop Matching
In addition to LBS for SF6 gas-insulated cabinets, we also offer indoor/outdoor VCBs, disconnectors, earthing switches, and LV equipment. Switchgear builders can purchase core components in one stop at Dongfa Intelligent.
FAQ
Q1: What is the biggest difference between an LBS and a DS?
A: The biggest difference is breaking capability. A DS can only be operated without load current. An LBS can break 630A normal load current, loop current, and 10A cable charging current.
Q2: How does the "Lower Door Interlock" in the drawing work?
A: When the LBS is in the closed position, a cam or linkage on the operating mechanism extends to physically block the lower door (cable compartment door) from opening. Only when the LBS is opened and the earthing switch is closed will the mechanism unlock and allow the door to open. This is a hard requirement for C-GIS anti-misoperation.
Q3: What do the rated charge pressure of 0.05MPa and minimum pressure of 0.03MPa mean?
A: During normal operation, the gas chamber is filled with 0.05MPa SF6 gas. If a slight leak causes the pressure to drop to 0.03MPa, the density monitor will send an alarm signal, prompting O&M personnel to refill. Within this pressure range, the product's insulation and breaking capabilities remain guaranteed.
Q4: Does this LBS support motorized operation?
A: Yes. The drawing shows operating voltages of AC/DC 48V, 110V, and 220V, allowing it to be equipped with a motorized operating mechanism for remote control.
Q5: Are you a factory or a trader? Do you support factory audits?
A: Dongfa Intelligent is an own factory in Yueqing, Zhejiang. Factory audits are supported. You are welcome to visit our SF6 filling and leak detection lines.
